It only comes around once every four years. It's the biggest day of them all. I have been dreading it and yet am hopefully optimistic about it, but could not be more nervous for it. You might think, the World Cup is still months away, what the hell are you yammering about? It's the day that decides the fates and fortunes of so many teams that are in the World Cup, the day of the draw. The day that my soul will fly to the heavens or be crushed like it was in 2006.

Certainly in terms of a world scale, this World Cup might have the most overall talent by team. There are hardly any weak spots. However, the hope of drawing a Uruguay, an Algeria or the biggest prize of them all, South Africa looms large. Can the US dodge another group of death? How will they match up against these other sides from abroad. Who will they play? What group games will I see in South Africa next year? Forgive my thoughts of panic and glory at the same time.

Will the US find a group that they can smash through on a brash run toward the final, finally showing the world that when we say Don't Tread on Me that the snake brings the venom and the bite to back it up, or will it be a disaster of a group like France 1998, where I will be embarrassed that they even bothered wasting airline fuel to get to SA2010? Or will it be the most painful of them all, the 2006 performance where the boys outplayed the soon to be world champs and battled Ghana, but could not get it done? This draw will give us the first look at what the African continent holds for the most dangerous national team this country has ever seen. Like I said, the biggest day of the past four years, and of the next four until the fateful drawing comes around again. Three days, and the fortunes of so many in the world will be known. Just three days.
