EPL Round 12 Predictions

Posted by Biggy and Chamo on November 5, 2009  •  Comments

A stunning return to form from Chamo saw him grab an impressive three correct scores last week, and launched him into a comfortable lead over Biggy, who is still struggling (and consequently still not writing explanations for his predictions). Round 12 has the meaty matchup of the two heavyweights at the top of the league, Manchester United versus Chelsea at the Bridge.

Biggy:

Wow. I can't believe I'm on a failboat, it's a big empty watery road of fail. I need to rally.

Aston Villa 2:0 Bolton

Blackburn 1:0 Portsmouth

Man City 2:0 Burnley

Tottenham 3:2 Sunderland

Wolves 1:4 Arsenal

Hull City 1:1 Stoke City

West Ham 2:1 Everton

Wigan 2:3 Fulham

Chelsea 2:0 Man United

Liverpool 1:1 Birmingham

Really though, it's knock em all dead time. Here we gooooooooo!

Chamo:

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack! Biggy is still crying over his last round of predicts, while I run about accumulating an insurmountable lead in our prediction race. Too early to claim the title? Not at all.

Aston Villa 3:1 Bolton Bolton aren't very good and they were just man-handled by Chelsea twice in the same week. Villa certainly aren't Chelsea, but they did beat the Blues, so should dispatch Bolton with relative ease.

Blackburn 1:1 Portsmouth
Personally, I would like to see Blackburn win this match, but after Portsmouth's stunner last weekend I find it difficult to believe they will return to the crap team they were earlier this season in just one week. To slow that descent, they will draw Rovers instead.

Man City 3:0 Burnley
City need to return to winning ways, especially as Liverpool flounders around doing anything except winning football matches. Burnley struggles on the road and the Eastlands side has the talent to easily dispose of the Premier League new comers.

Tottenham 2:1 Sunderland
Tottenham cannot be happy with their performance against Arsenal last Saturday, meanwhile Sunderland seem to have fallen off the pace a bit after storming through the first few weeks of the season. It's a close one, but Tottenham squeaks by at White Hart Lane as Defoe returns.

Wolves 0:2 Arsenal
Wolves have improved immensly, but Arsenal is simply too great a task for the Wanderers and they fall to a respectable 2:0 scoreline against an in form Gunners side. Maestro Fabregas continues to terrorize the center of the pitch, while I continue to curse myself for not picking him for my fantasy team.

Hull City 0:1 Stoke City
Hull. Are. Awful.

West Ham 1:0 Everton
West Ham finally came through for me, as I managed to predict BOTH of the Hammer's scoreline this past week. While I am writing this I am watching Everton play, other than Tim Howard I just can't see another person playing truly to the calibre expected of them for the Toffees.

Wigan 1:2 Fulham
Fulham played very well against Liverpool last week, as Duff seems to be tearing apart ant and all in the Premiership yet again (what a signing that was!). Wigan are quite good at home, but after being picked apart by Portsmouth, my faith in the Latics is falling.

Chelsea 3:1 Man United
The match everyone wants to watch, regardless of who they support, both these teams played tough midweek games that saw they both struggle to perform against much weaker sides. The difference in this one comes down to the amazing form of Didier Drogba and the blatant lack of form of Rio Ferdinand.

Liverpool 2:0 Birmingham
At least Liverpool get to play a side that are significantly weaker than them....

I think I took the prize this week gentlemen:
7 correct results, 3 correct scorelines

Biggy, you were actually right about the Liverpool draw, although it should have been a loss. Never touched him. Totally a dive.
